As a CFL Offensive Lineman #65, Mike Palumbo never thought that when he was enjoying road trips especially for the food - that he would be spending the next decade-plus in the food business and enjoying every minute of it. He oversees operations at Spolumbo's, and that means you have to get up pretty early in the morning to beat Mike to the shop. It is in this position that Mike is able to exercise his commitment to consistency, quality and his belief that you should only consume the best food and wine you can find, with the best people you know.

Mike tries to be around the deli during the peak of the Spolumbo's day, basically from 11:15am through to 2pm. When asked about the celebrities he has met through their visits to Spolumbo's he mentioned how much he appreciates them, but then graciously speaks of the "regulars". Expressing what a kick he gets from seeing people come by every week or so for lunch. These are the people Mike enjoys getting to know and being around. He attributes family values, a great staff and the loyalty of Calgarians to the success of Spolumbo's. And wouldn't want to see it any other way.
